Suzuki is pleased to announce the first images and an overview of the new, third generation Suzuki Swift Car which goes on sale in Britain in autumn 2010.

Suzuki held the line off ceremony for the world's first mass production of its new Swift Car production plant Magyar Suzuki Corporation in Esztergom, Hungary.

The new Suzuki Swift Car is positioned as the last model Suzuki world strategic developments, and makes strong style, impact on safety, driving performance, handling, increased fuel consumption and emissions significantly lower.

Extensive use of higher strength steel makes the new chassis lighter and stiffer than in the past as well as offering sophisticated design underbody. This latest body design also helped to improve the safety impact on pedestrians and occupants.

Increase in track and larger diameter wheels with lower profile tires can handle even better than the already highly acclaimed Suzuki Swift Car out that first went on sale in 2005.

The interior design is now a more dynamic, with the color black as his keynote with silver accents throughout the Swift Car.

New Swift Car has grown slightly in length (+90 mm) with an increase of 50 mm distance.

For the engine, a new 1.2-liter gasoline engine incorporating Dual VVT (variable intake and exhaust valve timing) is used which produces 94PS at 6,000 rpm, a bit 'over the outgoing 1.3-liter unit . Torque is also improved to 118Nm at 4,800 rpm.

Fuel consumption is now 56.5mpg on the combined cycle for the manual transmission model, an improvement of 7.8mpg on the previous 1.3-liter unit.

The emissions are much lower, and the new 1.2-liter engine with manual transmission produces just 116g/km in combined cycle, representing a 24g/km or improvement of 17 percent compared to 1.3. An optional automatic transmission will be available for motor gasoline launch.

A 1.3-liter diesel engine will also be available and scheduled for introduction in the United Kingdom in early 2011, the engine emits 109g/km (from 119g/km) and has an impressive combined fuel consumption of 67.3mpg, an improvement on an already very credible 62.8mpg from the outgoing Suzuki Swift Car DDIS. This engine is Euro 5 engine management is more accurate than before with reduced levels of mechanical friction to the smoothness and flexibility.

A further selection of images will be available later this month and details on full specification of the UK and prices will be announced in the summer of 2010.

2011 Swift car unwrapped

Swift Car

Swift Car
Well, by the plethora of spy shots and renderings floating around the world wide web, I did not expect much in terms of a brand new design for 2011 Swift Car, but still a new model should at least look a little different, considering the fact that Swift Car is quickly becoming rather boring and long in the tooth. I was expecting a cooler with front projectors and the like: it did not happen. I expected a more aggressive grille and a front-end: this did not happen.

So what does the 2011 Swift Car bring to the table in order to justify the long wait? To begin with, space is what the 2011 Suzuki Swift Car is expected to have in abundance, what with a big step and a wider track both front and rear. Suzuki claims that these changes have made the sport more sporty Swift Car even more hitting the quotient of handling. While we take the word Suzuki for this currently, it seems wise, there is no denying the fact that 2011 Swift Car turns out to be a wet firecracker. We did a post on the hood of the 2011 Swift Car options will look like and you can head here to read this.

Coming to the interior, maintaining the traditional sporty interior Swift Car have always come with the dashboard and 2011, Swift Car does not seem different as can be seen from spy photos above. This is really a good thing because Swift Car traditional buyers have always been much younger, where sportsmanship is a huge policy decision. While the interior space should be increased taking into account the larger size, we're not too sure about the rear 2011 Swift Car feeling less claustrophobic than the current model.

This, as the rear window is as small and as high as ever and this allied with the low seat could be a factor in not-so-well over long distances, especially in countries like India where the Swift Car has 4-door and five adults is expected to lug around. Moving on, the 2011 start Swift Car, who has always suffered could also see some much-needed addition to the space race. Thus, the first impression the 2011 Suzuki Swift Car looks like a model that has resulted in a lot of functionality missing in the current model, while remaining very similar, it seems wise. This, Ladies and Gentlemen, the 2011 Suzuki Swift Car is for you.
